There's something incredibly satisfying about giving a squishy a slow squeeze and watching it slowly return to shape. Whether it's sitting on your desk, helping you relax during a busy day, or simply making you smile, a little care goes a long way toward keeping your Axowotals squishy looking and feeling its best.
When Your Squishy Arrives
Your squishy may have spent several days traveling before reaching you. It's normal if it feels slightly cool, firm, or compressed when you first open the package.
Simply remove it from the packaging and give it a few gentle squeezes. Within a short time at room temperature, it should regain its soft, slow-rising feel.
Avoid pulling or stretching the material, especially around small details, as squishies are designed to be compressed, not stretched.
Everyday Care
To help your squishy last as long as possible:
-
Squeeze gently rather than twisting or pulling.
-
Keep it away from sharp objects, keys, pens, pet claws, and scissors.
-
Store it in a cool, dry place when not in use.
-
Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, which can fade colors over time.
-
Keep it away from excessive heat, which may affect the material.
Although squishies are durable, they are still soft foam products and will naturally show some wear after lots of use.
Cleaning Your Squishy
If your squishy gets dusty or dirty, cleaning it is simple.
Light Cleaning
-
Wipe the surface with a soft, damp cloth.
-
Use a small amount of mild dish soap if needed.
-
Wipe away any soap residue with clean water.
-
Allow it to air dry completely before using it again.
For Sticky Residue
If the surface picks up lint or becomes slightly sticky:
-
Wash gently with mild soap and water.
-
Let it dry completely.
-
Avoid using alcohol, bleach, acetone, or harsh household cleaners, as these can damage the outer coating.
What If It Gets a Small Leak?
Some of our squishies contain a soft filling or gel. While leaks are uncommon, repeated squeezing or accidental punctures can occasionally create a tiny opening.
If you notice a small leak:
-
Stop squeezing the squishy immediately.
-
Wipe away any material around the opening using a damp cloth.
-
Let the area dry completely.
-
Seal the opening with a small amount of clear silicone adhesive or aquarium-safe silicone sealant.
-
Allow the sealant to cure fully according to the manufacturer's directions before using the squishy again.
For very small pinhole leaks, a flexible silicone adhesive typically creates the strongest, longest-lasting repair because it remains soft after curing.
Avoid super glue (cyanoacrylate), as it dries rigid and may crack when the squishy is compressed repeatedly.
Things to Avoid
To help your squishy stay in great condition, avoid:
-
Pulling on small parts or decorative details
-
Stretching the material excessively
-
Sharp objects
-
High heat
-
Harsh chemical cleaners
-
Washing machines or clothes dryers
Is My Squishy Safe?
Our squishies are intended as collectible novelty and stress-relief toys.
As with most soft toys:
-
They are not intended to be chewed or punctured.
-
Young children should always be supervised during play.
-
If the outer material becomes significantly damaged or begins leaking extensively, discontinue use until it can be repaired or replaced.
